Auto Expo 2020, India

Auto Expo 2020 - India's largest motor show is being held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Mercedes Benz, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Suzuki, Tata, and similar brands are displaying their latest products and concepts at the expo.

Hyundai presented its fusion concept of a dune buggy and jet ski - Hyundai Kite at the Auto Expo 2020. Hyundai Design Center in Europe partnered with the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) for developing this concept.

This all-electric vehicle comes with a steering that can be repositioned from the right side to the left side. Kite can be converted from a two-seater dune buggy to a single-seater jet ski. The dune buggy is powered by four brushless motors placed inside the wheels and the jet ski uses a water-jet turbine to function.

Hyundai also has the Le Fil Rouge (HDC-1) concept on display. Putting the prime focus on its design, the concept evolved from Hyundai's new Sensuous Sportiness design theme which can also be seen on other models like Kona Electric, Nexo and Santa Fe SUV.

Japanese superbike - Suzuki Katana also marked its spot among the high-end motors. Since its launch in 1981, this bike continues to be one of the most exemplary sports bike manufactured by Suzuki.

Katana is equipped with track-bred technology which provides three different control systems to prevent rear-wheel spin. Using the switch on the handlebar, the rider can choose sports riding mode to fulfil their craving of an adrenaline rush. Another mode offers an ideal balance for typical road conditions and the third mode delivers maximum traction control on road in poor condition.

Maruti Suzuki, on the other hand, showcased its Futuro-e concept. The Futuro-e is a statement of intent from Maruti to enter the midsize SUV segment. It is an electric SUV concept and Maruti claims that the SUV  "future-ready with a wide array of powertrain options like hybrid & pure EV".

Maruti has not announced a timeline for when a Futuro-e-derived SUV will make production. However, when launched, the Maruti SUV will have its work cut out for it. Kia has taken the midsize SUV segment by storm and Hyundai is also set to bring out the second-generation Creta.

This year's expo has witnessed the unveiling of outstanding builds such as Maruti Futuro-e SUV concept, Kia's QYI compact SUV, the next-gen Mahindra XUV500, and Tata H2X. This 5-days long expo will be ending tomorrow leaving its audience anticipated till the coming year.
