Spreading good vibes during the pandemic
At the moment, if we maintain hygiene, not only would we protect ourselves, but we would also protect our loved ones. Self-care practices would also help to strengthen self-worth and compassion
Taking care of ourselves and each other and at the same time, stepping towards safety and health hygiene, are important messages we all need to reinforce during the pandemic.
Dove partnered with "Bhumijo", a social enterprise, and Sajida Foundation, a value driven non-government organisation, to cater to the needs of frontline health caregivers. Doctors have been delivered special kits with products and care letters to thank them for their services during this crisis.
Frontline heath caregivers are true soldiers to the society, and they are fighting one of the toughest battles in the world. While we are trying to keep ourselves safe and sound, doctors and nurses are exposing themselves to the coronavirus.
To reinforce WHO guidance on the importance of hand washing properly and frequently, it does not matter which brand of soap or disinfectant you use – you can use any, just remember to do it regularly and with care.
At the moment, if we maintain hygiene, not only would we protect ourselves, but we would also protect our loves ones. Self-care practices would help to strengthen self-worth and compassion, as well as increase good feelings between friends, family members and neighbours.
Dove also initiated the "Dove self-esteem project" and "Wash to care" campaign by engaging social media influencers and celebrities who are spreading words of inspiration and self-care around the world.
This project is also aimed at helping parents, caregivers and guardians to support young people's mental wellbeing, especially during a time when educational institutions are closed.
Azmeri Haque Badhon, one of the stars of the campaign, wrote in her instagram, "#SelfEsteemAtHome series: Wellbeing at Home! I will put out my own thoughts on self-care and mental wellness along with advice backed up by experts from the global
'Dove self-esteem project'. My commitment and my words stem from my strong belief in the significance of self-care and self-worth. I believe we should practice self-compassion at all points in life and learn to love ourselves just the way we are."
These words of motivation are directed towards millions of women and girls everywhere in the world who need to love and take care of themselves.
