Healthy lunch ideas for work

Every morning, most of us rush to the office without even paying attention to our breakfast and as soon as we reach office, we find ourselves piled up with phone calls, emails, and meetings. At some point, when your stomach starts grumbling, that is when you realise; it is nearly lunchtime. And this is when we should try eating something healthy and avoid junk food as much as possible.

The Business Standard brings to you some hand-picked office lunch ideas which will fill your  tummy as well as your basic nutritional guidelines:

Lemon rice

Lemon Rice is a delicious dish which you can easily make when in a hurry. In fact, you can also make it with leftover rice.

One plate of lemon rice contains approximately 249 calories. You can also add some greens and protein to the dish.

Pasta salad

I never met anybody in my life who does not like pasta. You can prepare pasta salad with one or more types of pasta and often toss in vinegar oil. It must include fresh vegetables and a simple dressing without any fat and cream.

Serving size of 140gram consists of approximately 58 calories, which is a very healthy and simple option for lunch.
Chicken sandwich

It is one of the most simple and easiest lunch items you could pack as an office lunch item. This is a very nutritious and stomach filling dish if you toss it with lettuce leaves and other greens.

Steamed chicken curry and mixed vegetable salad with paratha

A cup of steamed chicken curry and mixed vegetable salad with two parathas is a very filling and healthy option.

Moong dal khichuri

One plate of khichuri is a healthy option and combines the nutrients of moong dal and rice. This is also a delicious item and you can add chicken or beef with it to bring variety.
