Breathtaking waterfalls around the world

Waterfalls are one of nature's most beautiful creations and around the world, there are numerous ones, each more picturesque than the other. 

The few waterfalls that we have in Bangladesh, such as the ones in Nafa-khum, Himchhori, and Madhabkunda, bloom during the monsoon and their plummeting water attract hundreds of tourists every day.

Niagara Falls, North America

The Niagara Falls needs no introduction. This 2600ft long and 167ft high enormous beauty is one of the top tourist attractions in the world. 

Spanning near the border between the USA and Canada, it is made up of three waterfalls –the American Falls, the Bridal Falls and the Horseshoe Falls. Niagara Falls is also used to produce hydro-electricity.  

Tugela Falls, South Africa

The Tugela Falls in South Africa is the world's second tallest waterfall after the Angel Falls in Venezuela. It is situated near a beautiful mountain trail and the source of the Tugela River. The gigantic waterfall rolls down the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa. 

Victoria Falls, Zambia

The Victoria Falls in Zambia is 355ft high and it is known for its rapidly falling water. Tourists can also swim in a natural pool near it. The waterfall forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. At the peak of monsoon, more than five hundred million cubic meters of water per minute fall over its edge.

Ban Gioc Waterfall, Vietnam

Also known as Detian Falls, the Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam has an astonishing width of 984ft. Its water crashing onto the rocks makes a lovely sound that can be heard from miles. It is one of the most famous tourist spots in Vietnam and many ethnic minorities live near it. 

Sutherland Falls, New Zealand

The Sutherland Falls is one of the remotest waterfalls in the world with a powerful force of water. The spectacular waterfall in New Zealand has a height of 1902ft. Many call it a fairy-tale waterfall after its surreal beauty.
