Travelling during the pandemic
Things are slowly changing and people have started to travel in buses and trains
We love to travel and it is a great way of relieving stress. But the coronavirus pandemic left us in a difficult state and restricted most travelling activities.
However, things are slowly changing and people have started to travel in buses and trains. Domestic and international flights have also resumed, although on a small scale.
If you are travelling during the pandemic for any reason, you should keep the following safety measures in mind:
Get yourself tested
Before embarking on your journey, get tested for coronavirus to make sure that you are not a carrier. Even if you have mild symptoms, do not ignore and promptly get a test done.
In case you get a positive result, refrain from travelling and go into isolation. Also make sure to not come in contact with a Covid-19 patient before travelling.
Carry all paperwork with you
Your medical history is extremely important during travelling. Make sure you carry medical tests to prove that you are healthy and you are not exhibiting any symptoms. Also make sure that all of them are recent or at best two weeks old.
It would be wise to carry your travel history along, in case authorities want to check whether you have come from a red zone area (in case of Bangladesh) or visited it recently.
Carry all the necessary items
Make sure that you have all the things needed to maintain hygiene. Wear a mask, a pair of gloves, and carry disinfectants and hand sanitisers. You can also carry wet wipes.
Be careful not to touch elevator buttons, handrails and switches. You can push them with a Q-tip or toothpick and throw them out later. Carry extra poly bags for carrying documents.
If you are sharing hand sanitiser with a fellow passenger, squeeze or spray some out on to his/her hands instead of letting them touch the bottle.
Remember all safety guidelines
Stick to all the safety guidelines. Maintain a safe distance from other passengers and it is best not to engage in casual conversation during this time.
Try to avoid touching things inside a bus, train or airplane. Be patient while standing in line and do not rush.
Once you reach your destination, make sure to clean your luggage before taking them indoors. If you feel unwell after reaching your destination, consult a doctor immediately and go into isolation.
