Buying an AC can be confusing.

What type of AC should you buy? A window AC or a split? Should it be an inverter type or non-inverter? How long will it last? The queries can be endless.

So, to make things easier, here are the top 5 split type ACs a rated by The Business Standard after spending long hours under these ACs and speaking to those who use and sell them.

5. Mitsubishi SRK-18YNS

Primarily known for cars, Mitsubishi makes ACs as well. The Mitsubishi ACs in Bangladesh are made in Thailand, and Esquire electronics is the official distributing partner.

The 1.5 ton AC is beautiful when it comes to design, and it is great for heavy usage both at home and industrially. The AC has a fast cooling capacity and is known for its durability.

The AC can also cool down a room quickly occupied by more people present.

It comes with three years compressor warranty, two years spare parts warranty and three years service warranty.

The AC is currently priced at Tk103,500

4. Daikin Premium Inverter Split Air Conditioner  JTKJ18TV16UD

Japanese products are always well appreciated in our country.

Daikin ACs are imported directly from Japan and these modern ACs officially entered the Bangladeshi market only this year through Transcom Digital.

The AC has power chill mode which can quickly cool down the surrounding area.

Another interesting thing about the AC is that the air does not fall directly onto our heads. The AC circulates the air and cools every corner of the rooms with its Coanda airflow technology.

Also, the indoor unit is relatively quiet.

The AC we tested had a capacity of 1.5 ton with inverter technology. It is priced at Tk97,200 and comes with a three years warranty.

3. Samsung eight pole inverter AC AR18MVFHGWKZ

This Samsung inverter AC is ideal for home-usage.

Due to the eight-pole inverter technology, the motor is shaped like a circle and as a result, it consumes less electricity than most other air conditioners.

This AC can also cool down the rooms pretty fast by consuming only 1600W of energy when set at the maximum cooling setting.

It also has a two-step cooling mode which begins cooling the air fast using its fast cool mode. It then automatically changes to comfort cool mode to maintain the desired temperature.

The AC comes with a five years compressor warranty and is priced at Tk87,900.

2. General ASG-24ABC

There is a saying that old is gold. This is the oldest model of General AC available in Bangladesh officially.

The Ac was first launched in 1997 and it uses R22 refrigerant and uses a US-made admiral compressor.

The AC has gained much popularity in Bangladesh for its longevity.

Using this AC feels like installing and forgetting about it. It is also suitable for heavy usage in offices where there are more people.

You can buy the official product from Esquire electronics with two years official warranty. This classic 1.5 ton AC will cost you Tk111,500, and it does not come with inverter technology.

1. General ASGA-18FUTB

At the top of our list is another non-inverter AC from General.

Like its predecessor, it has held up the brand name and is known for its durability and longevity.

This AC uses eco-friendly R410 gas, and it can provide airflow upto 25 metres although it has the same capacity as the other General AC models.

The AC uses the Reciprocating-Admiral compressor, which is also made in the US.
