The first thing Sharmin does after getting up from her long slumber is water her beloved cactus and succulents. Why, you might ask?

"They are an integral part of my life and I love seeing them when I wake up," she explained.

Over the past years, the trend of decorating houses with indoor and ornamental plants has seen a gradual rise across the world.

These days many households tend to decorate their living and drawing rooms with Cactus, Money Plants, Rubber Figs, Garden Croton and many more.

While selecting plants for indoors among wide variety, things can get confusing. Good and quality plants have an impact on the choices you make. Indoor plants and fittings are like an investment; you would not want to spend huge in repairs and replacement.

Thus, it is important to choose plants which will not only enhance the indoor décor but also act as your personal place of zen.

Fortunately for Dhakaites, the capital provides lots of options to choose from when it comes to purchasing indoor and ornamental plants. Unfortunately, though they are scattered all across the capital so one has to pick and choose wisely when it comes to nurseries.

First and foremost, if you really want the good quality plants within a reasonable price, then Banani Nursery is the place for you on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway. From standard size grass to cut flowers, ornamental plants both indoor and outdoor all are sold within reasonable price.

Indoor ornamental plants may range within BDT 150-350 which includes plants like Money Plant, Ficus, Jade Plant, Rubber Fig and Garden Croton.

Placing the plants in your veranda or living room will contribute to enhancing the interior decor of the house.

Another stop for plant lovers is Agroj Nursery in Gulshan-1. Indoor-outdoor you name it they have it all within various ranges and prices.

Indoor ornamental plants may include plants like Money Plant, Cactus, Dracena, Palm and Cyperus which will go well alongside with ornamental supplies ranging between BDT 100-350.

After buying in the plants and supplies, if you are still not satisfied, than just go and buy some nick-nacks like artificial bird's nest, rickshaw showpieces and many more ranging between BDT 400-600.

If you think Gulshan and Banani are far-off destination for you then give Dhaka-City Nursery in Agargaon near the national archives.

Plants over here include Cactus, Money Plants, Rubber Figs, Garden Croton, Dracena, Palma among others ranging between BDT 150-500 depending on the plant types and sizes.
