Around 1,000 entrepreneurs are expected to participate in the event

A two-day-long festival of women entrepreneurs titled "WE Colorful Fest" will kick off at Purbachal Club in the capital city on Friday.

Around 1,000 entrepreneurs will participate in the event, arranged by the Women and e-Commerce (WE), a platform for women entrepreneurs.

Nasima Akter Nisha, president of the organisation, revealed this at a press conference in the city on Tuesday.

She said local and foreign buyers will participate in the event. Buyers are coming from outside the country, while many foreign buyers are expected to join the event online.

"Our priority is to help the marginal entrepreneurs from villages showcase their products to local and foreign buyers and capture the overseas market of domestic products. The WE has been working on such initiatives since 2018," she said.

"We have already started work on the WE India and WE Nepal chapters to expand the scope of WE's work," Nasima added.

"We will work to gradually expand the market for local products in Asia and Europe. Once this is done, products will be easier to reach there and buyers will benefit," Nasima said.

WE is an e-commerce organisation working with local producers. Its Facebook-based group currently has 11 million members. Of these, 4 lakh regular sellers are regularly selling their products using this platform.
