BSPD conducts training on 'Behaviour Management and Parenting'
The Bangladesh Society for Parents of the Differently-abled (BSPD) organised a training session on "Behaviour Management and Parenting" for parents in Cox's Bazar on Tuesday (25 February).
The training was conducted by Jhumona Mullick Jhumi, the founder and president of BSPD.
The event took place at Arunodaya Special School on Circuit House Road in the city, reads a press release.

A total of 31 parents of children with disabilities participated in the session, engaging in open discussions about their concerns. The interactive and emotional session provided a platform for parents to share their experiences, seek guidance, and find support.
President Jhumona Mullick Jhumi expressed special gratitude to Shahjalal Sir, the principal of the school, as well as BSPD Cox's Bazar regional members Yasmin and Rushmina, for their support in organising the event.
Prior to this, on 23 February, BSPD officially launched its Regional Member Council at Chattogram Press Club.
In a unanimous decision, Zeenat Rahman was appointed as the convener of BSPD Chattogram, while Nahida Sultana was selected as the joint convener.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Jhumona Mullick Jhumi, regional members from Chattogram, and a delegation of parents.
Following the inauguration, BSPD Chattogram held its first general meeting, where members discussed the organisation's future plans and objectives.
During the meeting, participants emphasised that while the needs of parents vary based on the age and condition of their children, a common demand among all parents is to ensure the rights and protection of their children within families, society, and the state.
BSPD Chattogram's key objectives and action plan
Members of BSPD Chattogram pledged to work together and identified the following priority areas:
- Taking effective measures to ensure the rights and protection of children with special needs.
- Organizing awareness programs, training, and counseling sessions for parents.
- Expanding BSPD's network by connecting parents from all districts of Chattogram.
- Engaging with policymakers and actively working towards the implementation of state policies.
Speaking about the initiative, Jhumona stated that the launch of BSPD Chattogram marks a significant milestone that will empower parents and open new horizons for establishing the rights of children with special needs.
