Northern region shivers as minimum temperature touches 6.6 degrees

Dhaka’s temperature has dropped three notches below than Friday

Bone-chilling cold conditions prevailed in northern districts as the lowest minimum temperature was recorded 6.6 degree Celsius in Kurigram's Rajarhat on Saturday morning.

Tentulia in Panchagarh recorded a temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius while the temperature in Rangpur was recorded 8.9 degrees Celsius.

Besides, Dhaka's temperature has dropped three notches below than Friday.

Today's minimum temperature of Dhaka city has been recorded 13.5 degrees Celsius, according to a Met office release.

Besides, Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Mymensingh, Rajshahi & Rangpur divisions and the regions of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Srimangal, Jashore, Kushtia, Barishal and Bhola.

It may continue, according to the forecast.

According to the Met Office, the temperature may drop below 6 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country. 

"Weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Moderate to thick fog may occur in the country during midnight to morning," reads the release.

Night temperature may fall slightly over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet and it may remain unchanged elsewhere in the country, according to the Dhaka Met office.

Day temperature also may fall slightly over the country.
