A mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Jashore and Khulna and it may spread

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in 24-hour till 9 am tomorrow," said a Met office bulletin issued here this morning.

The weather may remain mainly dry elsewhere over the country, the bulletin added.

Besides, a mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Jashore and Khulna and it may spread.

Day temperature may rise by (1-2) o C and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 42 mm at Sylhet in Sylhet division.

The country's maximum temperature yesterday was recorded 36.5 degrees Celsius at Mongla in Khulna division and the minimum temperature today was 20.4 degrees Celsius at Mymensingh in the Mymensingh division.

Today's sunset at Dhaka at 6.34 pm and tomorrow's sunrise will be at 5.15 am.
