Heat wave may continue: Met office
Rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind, is likely to occur at one or two places
Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted that the ongoing mild to moderate heat wave would continue in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today.
"Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the districts of Moulvibazar and Barishal, and it may continue," a met office bulletin issued this morning.
The met office forecasts that rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind, is likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and Kishoregonj, Brahmanbaria and Cumilla districts with hails at isolated places.
Weather may remain mainly dry elsewhere over the country, the bulletin said.
The highest temperature on Thursday was recorded 38.8 degrees Celsius in Ishurdi under Rajshahi division, while today's minimum temperature was 17.5 degrees Celsius in Sayedpur under Rangpur division.
