DoE fines Jinde Elastic Company Limited for polluting environment

Department of Environment (DoE), Chattogram wing fined Tk3.64 lakh to Jinde Elastic (BD) Company Limited for polluting the environment by releasing factory's harmful liquid waste.
Director of DoE (Chattogram), Azadur Rahman Mallick handed down the penalty after a hearing at its Chattogram metropolitan office today.
The environment department recently visited the factory and found evidence of pollution, said Sangjukta Das Gupta, assistant director of DoE, Chattogram.
The department later sent notice to the company to appear at the hearing.
