A cyclone is likely to hit Bangladesh this November as there are chances of a few depressions to form in the Bay of Bengal, forecasts Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

There could be a little more rain this month and a couple of depressions may form in the bay, one of which could turn into a cyclone as per the long-term weather forecast, Meteorologist Omar Faruque said on Monday.

The temperatures of days and nights will decrease gradually but the average temperature will remain normal, he also said.

There was remarkably more rain last month. In the Bay of Bengal, low pressure formed twice on October 1 and 20 which later transformed in depression, causing the Met office to hoist local cautionary signal-3.

Meanwhile, the Met office put down the warning on Monday.

Meteorologists said night temperatures will continue to drop in November. In the last half of December, mild to moderate cold wave is expected in the northern, north-eastern, and central parts of the country.

It is not uncommon for fog or little rain in the evening, night, and morning in autumn. The cold weather will intensify in mid-November, they added.
