The cyclone has damaged 6 kilometres of embankment in Bhola.

Cyclone Amphan has damaged many houses and fish ponds in the char region of Bhola.

30  makeshift houses in the char region have been damaged, and at least 400 ponds in the district, including those used for fish farming, have been inundated due to water breaching the embankments of those areas.

The cyclone has damaged crops on almost 763 hectares land.

Hasan Mahmud, the executive engineer of the water development board, said that the cyclone has also damaged 6 kilometres of embankment in Bhola.

"We are placing GO bags in the damaged areas so water cannot enter through there," Hasan Mahmud said.

The deputy director of the agriculture department, Harlal Madhu said, "The cyclone could not do much damage to crops because the farmers had been warned and had harvested the crops earlier."

Local leaders said that people are going back to their homes from the cyclone shelters as the weather is better today.
