Night on Earth: The nocturnal animals and their lifestyle after dark

Streaming giant Netflix released a brand new nature documentary series, titles "Night on Earth" following the success of another nature documentary series "Our Planet." 

Voiced over by Sir David Attenborough, "Our Planet" reminded the viewers how brutally humans have destroyed our planet. 

Similarly, "Night on Earth" captures the life of nocturnal animals when the sun sets down and reminds why the nocturnal animals should be preserved to keep the balance of the eco system. 

Using ground-breaking technology, the series portrays a unique perception of the world of the nocturnal animals. 

Narrated by "The Handmaid's Tale" actor Samira Wiley, the new series, featuring 6 episodes explores various habitats including the African Savanna and the Peruvian desert.

"Moonlit Plains," first episode of the series, follows a pack of leopards, hunting down their prey in African jungles. 

To follow a creature with ability to sprint at over 50 kilometers per hour, cameras which are extra sensitive in darkness and can capture such speedy animals were used. 

The show also captures giraffes, elephants, and the beautiful black rhino. The producers perfectly captures rare footage of the exquisite rhinos while they drink water together at the watering holes.

As the creatures are extremely rare, the narrator explains why they come together after dark to satisfy their thirst. We can also get a glimpse of rare moments of scorpions' mating rituals, while the darkness was illuminated by ultraviolet lights. 

Second episode, "Frozen Nights," articulates life of the animals in arctic and their habitats. 

"Dark Seas," brings us glowing night life of the seas in new light. "Sleepless Cities" and "Dusk Till Dawn" are also enjoyable episodes of the series. 

Edmund Butt composed music the show which complements the series utterly. Produced by Plimsoll Productions, the British nature documentary is a great series which unveils the night life through low-light camera technology. 

Documentaries like "Planet Earth" and "Hostile Planet" showed nocturnal animals and their habits before, but "Night on Earth" used ground breaking technology to portray a closer insights into the wild life at night for which it deserves a 4.5 star out of 5. 

The series was released on Netflix on January 29.
