This story depicts how the lives of retired people are – loneliness being a constant companion. How the family structure has changed along with the time and made these people lonelier. If a friend comes along in a lifetime with whom one can spend some time unselfishly, can tell stories, have a chat – what is wrong in it? But how will society and family accept this friendship? Are there limitations of time, age, and boundaries of this friendship? The story of the film "Gondi" has evolved precisely in the context of the friendship that has gone beyond social rituals, norms, taboo and structure.

Director Fakhrul Arefin Khan said, "Finally, the wait is over, 'Gondi' will be released on the 7th of February. We are very optimistic about the film. I have come up with a story of a slightly different friendship between two persons, how their families react and how their friendship at this age is considered a taboo in our society. The film is focusing on family bonding and their predominance in the film. Gondi is a movie which you can watch and enjoy with your family. So, I am inviting everyone to watch the movie in the theater with your family."

Suborna Mustafa, the protagonist of the movie confirmed the news through a video message on the official Facebook page of "Gondi". She also mentioned that the movie will be released in theatres on February 7, 2020.
