The Big Bang Theory ended this year, much to its fans' disappoints. Based on the lives of a bunch of scientist friends, the series is one of the biggest hits around the world.

After a hectic day at the university, with our brains fried from all the assignments and term papers, watching this show was one of the most relaxing things for my classmates and me. We especially loved the part when Sheldon and his gang ordered Greek food on Wednesdays.

One of the best things about the show was its lightheartedness; of course the characters faced troubles such as break-ups etc. but they were always dealt with nothing but pure humor.  The episodes were rarely boring and always consistent.

Watching Leonard pursue his ladylove Penny gave us utmost pleasure because although a typical affair between a geek running after a blond-haired beauty, their love and marriage worked out just fine at the end.

The most enjoyable character was of course Sheldon Cooper. This person is intriguing as an adult and also, surprisingly, as a childish man. He is not foolish but also does not come off as very bright when he has to deal with areas beyond his expertise. He is full of himself but his wife, Amy, another equally successful scientist, helps him tone down his narcissism.

One of the biggest downfalls of the series is the character Rajesh Koothrappali. His stereotypical 'Indian' vibe only reminded us of 'Apu' from The Simpsons, which was not a very nice feeling. We could never get over why Rajesh had to run after white American women and be so creepy all the time.

On the other hand, Howard's creepiness towards women was more tolerable! He was civil about it.

Bernadette, Amy and Penny, the three female characters of The Big Bang Theory are strong characters who did not usually tolerate much nonsense from their not so sensible partners. Even Howard's mother, Mrs. Wolowitz's shrieks helped Howard become a better person, in an inexplicable way.

Through numerous ups and downs, these six characters had a beautiful, more than a decade old, relationship on screen. Unknowingly we became attached to them, we became a part of their journey and longed for good things to happen.

The series ended on a happy tone with Penny revealing that she was pregnant. We were surprised with this revelation because she had earlier mentioned how she did not want children. Nevertheless, a happy ending was all we wanted.
