Azad Abul Kalam making a return with Pulsirat

Azad Abul Kalam is making a return to the stage after a gap of 7 years.

Eminent stage actor Azad Abul Kalam is making a return to the stages of Shilpakala and Mahila Samity once again with popular theater group Prachyanat's 'Pulsirath'.

After a gap of seven years, fans and audience of stage drama were able to see the veteran actor once again at his best at The Mahila Samity with the first production being staged at 6pm and the second one at 8pm on Friday.

The veteran actor was last seen on stage in 2012. From then on until now, the actor was on a break, with performances here and there in various drama festivals around the world.

Other cast members of 'Pulsirath' includes Shahriar Ferdouse Sajib, Saiful Jarnal, Mitul Rahman, Jagannaya Pal, Monirul Islam Rubel, Chetona Rahman Vasha, Tanzi Kun and Shamim Srabon among others.

The drama's stagehands includes Shahinoor Rahman (set design), Babar Khademi (lights), Neil Kamrul (music and sound) and Bilki Sojahan Saja (costumes).

The drama was adopted from Palestinian novelist Ghassan Kanafani's novel 'Man Under The Sun'. It was translated by Masumul Alam and has been play written by Monirul Islam Rubel.

The drama's plot revolves around three individuals namely Abu Kaies, Asad and Marwan who leaves behind their homeland of Palestine for their dream city; Kuwait.

Even though all of them are of different age and background, they have one thing in common; all three of them are refugees.

In search of fairer greens, the three individuals make their impossible journey under the scorching sun through the desert in order to make their elusive dream come true.

Only time will tell what fate has in store for our travelers.
