The band will find lyricists through Lyrics Hunt competition
Acclaimed musician Tanzir Tuhin's band Avash launched "Lyrics Hunt" competition, on the occasion of the release of their new music video "Bastob".
The video is available on the official YouTube channel of Avash. Directed by Arifur Rahman, the music video is produced by Goopy Bagha Productions
The song is available on various digital platforms including Apple music, Spotify, Google Play, GP music and many more.
In collaboration with Avash, event organizers Platform will organize the "Lyric Hunt" competition where any Bangladeshi writer can participate from all over the world. The Lyric Hunt will be open for all from March 1. Interested lyricists can find details from Platform's social media channels
Participants can submit lyrics for Avaash's upcoming album. From the submitted lyrics, judges will select 10 songs which will be featured in the debut album of Avash.
Acclaimed lyricist and musician Prince Mahmud and musician Tanvir Alam Sajib will serve as jurors of the competition.
Prince Mahmud said at the event, "This is a great initiative, I hope we can find some great lyrics. Such competition will encourage people who didn't have the courage to write songs before."
Talking about the competition Tanzir Tuhin told the Business Standard, "We want to inspire people who want to write lyrics for songs, and if we get more than 10 better songs, we plan to publish those lyrics as a compilation book of lyrics.
"Hopefully, we can release the album by November," he added. He further informed that they are not working on any specific theme, as long as the songs fit with Avash's tune and originality.
Platform will also make 10 animated music videos of the songs as well. Hasib Zuberi Shihan, founder of Platform told TBS, "The whole idea of lyric hunt came to mind while having a conversation with Avash. And we always wanted to make music videos and as we do animations, so thought of making animated music videos.
When he was asked if they would be able to finish making 10 music videos by November, he replied, "Yes, it is possible."
"As we want to wrap the lyrics hunt by April 17, we are planning to release the first music video in June", he added.
