The United States (US) has proposed to hold a Trade and Investment Cooperation Forum Agreement (TICFA) international meeting every three to four months to increase its trade with, and investment in, Bangladesh.
The US government would assist if Bangladesh sends a list of companies that have cancelled orders for ready-made garments during the pandemic.
Meanwhile, participants at the meeting called for the resumption of the suspended GSP facility in Bangladesh by the US and the US said that there are chances to consider this after December.
The international meeting of the TIFCA, signed by Bangladesh and the US, was held online on Tuesday night. At the meeting, a 24-member Bangladesh delegation, led by Commerce Secretary Zafar Uddin, took part; and a 13-member delegation led by US Assistant US Trade Representative for South and Central Asia, Chris Wilson.
