Traders cut soybean, palm oil prices by Tk2

The edible oil traders have decided to cut prices of soybean and palm oil by TK2 per liter, taking into consideration the prevailing situation in the country, said Commerce Minister, Tipu Munshi.

The decision was made following a meeting between the Minister and the edible oil traders at the Secretariat on Thursday.

Minister Tipu Munshi said his Ministry is working closely with the traders to stabilize stocks, supplies and prices of essential items amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Commerce Secretary, Dr Md Jafar Uddin; Additional Secretary (export), Md Obaidul Azam; Director General, Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, Babul Kumar Saha; Chairman, Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), Brig Gen Md Ariful Hasan, among others, were in attendance.
