TCB to sell three products from Sunday

On the occasion of forthcoming Eid-ul-Adha, state-owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will begin selling three products – sugar, lentils and soybean oil – at fair prices across the country from Sunday.

The sales will run until July 28, according to a press release issued by the TCB on Saturday.

The notification said TCB trucks will sell sugar for Tk52 per kg and one can buy maximum 2kgs of the item.

Besides, a buyer can get maximum 1kg lentils at Tk50 per kg and maximum 5 litres of soybean oil at Tk60 per litre.

When asked, TCB spokesperson Mohammad Humayun Kabir said three products will be sold countrywide centring the Eid-ul-Adha amid the coronavirus situation. The sales activities will continue in compliance with the hygiene rules.

The sales will be carried out through 264 mobile trucks across the country. Of these, 40 will be in Dhaka, 10 in Chattogram, 7 each in Rangpur and Mymensingh, 5 each in Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Bogura and Cumilla, 3 each in Jhenaidah and Madaripur.

Besides, two trucks in the remaining districts will sell the products, and five additional vehicles will perform the duty in phases for the upazilas under the regional office.

Possible selling spots in the capital are: Secretariat Gate, Jatrabari Bazar, Ittefaq Point, Shantinagar Bazar, Shahjahanpur Bazar, Khamarbari Farmgate, Mirpur-14 Kachukhet, Mirpur-1 Mazar Road, Shyamoli Point, Uttara Abdullahpur, Vikarunnesa Gate No. 10 Gate/Eastern Housing Gate, Begunbari, Motijheel Government Colony, Bashantek Bazar, Madhya Badda, Palashi / Chhapra Mosque, Jigatala / Dhanmondi Government Colony, Rampura Bazar, Mothertek/ Nandipara, Adabar or Mansurabad, and Bangla College.

Other spots include: Shah Saheb Field Azimpur Battala, Ashkona Hajji Camp, Basabo Bazar, Azampur DC Office, Satarkul, Bangladesh Bank, Mirpur-2/12, Matuail/Siddhirganj, ECB/Kalshi, Gabtoli/Technical, Kaptanbazar, Soarighat/Nawabganj Section, Banasree Bazar, Kalmilata Bazar, Karwan Bazar, Dilkusha, Meradia Bazar, Nippon Battala, Khilgaon Taltola, Mugda, New Market, Tongi Bazar, Shanir Akhra, Bochhila, Kamrangir Char Lohar Pool, Sarulia Bazar, Gangi Bazar, 80-ft Bhanga Mosque, Gopibagh Khokon Community Center, Gulshan Bhatara Cinema Hall, Savar Bazar, Ananda Cinema Hall, Moghbazar Fortune Market, Hatirpool Bazar, Malibagh Bazar, Uttar Badda and Khilkhet Bazar.
