Jewellers raise gold prices again

Price of gold has risen again after falling twice.
Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) has raised the prices of gold by Tk1,750 per ounce, which will be effective from September 10.
A press release signed by Enamul Haque Khan and Dilip Kumar, president and secretary of BAJUS informed this matter to the media.
According to the Bajus, the economic crisis caused by coronavirus and US-China trade war has weakened the US dollar.
Gold prices rose in the domestic bullion market amid volatility in the international market, including oil price fall, for which Bajus decided to increase the price of gold.
According to the new price list, 22 carat gold will be sold at Tk74,008, which was earlier Tk72,258. One ounce of 21 carat gold will now cost Tk70,858, which was earlier Tk69,109, while 18 carat gold will be sold for Tk62,110, which was earlier Tk60,361.
Besides, the price of gold acquired in traditional method has been re-fixed at Tk51,788, which was earlier Tk50,038. However, the price of silver has remained unchanged.
It is to be noted that, Bajus decreased gold price two times on August 13 and August 21.
