Garmentech Chittagong 2019 begins

The 3rd Regional Apparel Machine Trade Show -- Garmentech Chittagong 2019 -- kicked off on Thursday. The international tradeshow is showcasing cutting edge apparel manufacturing technology and garment accessories.

AJM Nasir Uddin, Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) mayor, inaugurated the 3-day event running from 29 to 31 August, at the GEC Convention Centre in Chattogram.

Starting in 2002, the ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd has been organizing the Garmentech Bangladesh tradeshows in Dhaka for years.

“The demand for Bangladeshi ready-made garments (RMG) is increasing worldwide. So, this export-oriented industry is becoming more important. The exhibition is displaying the latest technologies in it,” the mayor said at the inauguration ceremony.

This will help increase the productivity of the RMG and textile entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders, Nasir opined.

ASK Trade & Exhibitions' Managing Director Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan and Director Nanda Gopal K spoke at the programme among others.

More than 70 companies from Bangladesh, China, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, India, Vietnam, Turkey, Taiwan and Singapore are participating in the exhibition. They include Juki, Jack, Eastman, Morgan, Winda, JK Swing, Cool Master, Focus and Joe J Pacific Bangladesh Company.

Exhibitors are showcasing their products on a wide variety of sewing machines for woven and knits and related spares, boiler and laundry machinery, cutting.

The tradeshow is open between 11am and 7pm and the entry is free.
