All 24 CCCI directors elected unopposed

The 24 directors of The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) have all been elected unopposed for the next two years.
 
They were declared winners at a meeting held at the chamber's office at the Agrabad World Trade Center in Chattogram on Monday, a month before elections were due to take place.
 
CCCI Election Commissioner Md Nurun Newaz Selim said, "Sunday was the last day for submitting nomination papers. The election was scheduled for June 10. But till the last day, exactly 24 people submitted nomination papers against the 24 director posts. So, they have been unanimously declared  the winners.'
 
He said 13 of the elected directors are from the current committee. The remaining 11 are newly elected chamber members. These 24 directors will elect a praesidium consisting of a president, a senior vice-president, and a vice-president.
 
The re-elected members of the chamber are incumbent President Mahbubul Alam (Alam Trading Corporation), Vice-President Tarafdar Md Ruhul Amin (Saif Powertec), AKM Akhtar Hossain (Silver Trading Company), Ahid Siraj Chowdhury Swapan (AS Shipping Lines), Anjan Shekhar Das (RSB Industry Ltd), Benazir Chowdhury Nation (Golden Containers), Hasnat Md Abu Obaida (Maf Shoes Ltd), Md Shahriar Jahan (KSRM Steel), Salman Habib (Regent Textile), Shahzada Fauzul Aref Khan (Benchmark Apparels), Sakif Ahmed Salam (Fashion Watch Ltd), Syed Mohammad Tanvir (Pacific Jeans), and Nazmul Karim Chowdhury Sharpon (PowerBangla Corporation).
 
The newly elected members are Md Omar Farooq (Portland Autos), Alhaj Mohammad Sirajul Islam (Islam Motors), Rakibur Rahman (Nahar Poultry), Zahirul Islam Chowdhury (JN Shipping Lines), Iftekhar Hossain (CPDL Ltd), SM Tashin Junaid (Green Paper Cup), Sajir Ahmed (Super Silica Bangladesh Ltd), Tanvir Mustafa Chowdhury (Electro Tab), Iftekhar Faisal (Faisal Traders), Md Adnanul Islam (FA Trading), and Mohammad Nasirul Alam (N Alam Fisheries).
