Tk50 note in new colour from December 15
The existing design and security features of the banknote will be kept intact
Bangladesh Bank is going to release Tk50 note in a new colour on December 15.
As Tk10 and Tk50 notes have similarities in their colours, the central bank has printed Tk50 note in reddish orange colour to make it easy for the people to distinguish between the two bank notes, according to a press release.
It will be first issued from Bangladesh Bank's Motijheel office in Dhaka and later from other offices of the central bank.
However, the existing design of the Tk50 note will be kept intact. The new note will have a portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the signature of Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir.
The new banknote will also retain its existing security features like the watermark, two dots for the visually challenged, microprint, the texture and so on.
The existing prints of Tk50 note will remain in circulation along the new one.
