Stocks witness uptrend at opening

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, rose by 32.82 points or 0.67 percent to 4,899

Equity indices of the country's two major bourses reported an upward trend in the first one and a half hour of trading session on Tuesday.

Turnover of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) trading floor rose by 3 percent to Tk243.54crore during the period till 11:30am.

In this session, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, rose by 32.82 points or 0.67 percent to 4,899.

The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained 55 points to 14,046.

Moreover, the Shariah-based DSES index also gained 6.90 points to 1,120 and the blue-chip index DS30 rose by 6.85 points to 1,694.

Following the investors movements, 158 companies share price rose, while 78 issues fell and 97 remain unchanged during the session at the DSE.
