Stocks remain flat amid surging turnover

Equity indices of the stock exchanges reported negative trend amid investors selling pressure in the first one-and-half-hour trading session on Wednesday.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) fell 16 points or 0.32% to 4,883 till 11:30am.

Moreover, the benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) fell 40 points to 14,024.

However, turnover, another major indicator on the DSE trading floor, rose by 22% to Tk389.41 crore during the session.

Moreover, the Shariah-based DSES index gained 0.01 points to 1,112 and the blue-chip index DS30 rose 3.77 points to 1,707.

Out of the 334 issues traded during the same time frame, 77 company's share prices advanced, 171 declined and 86 remained unchanged.
