Stocks open higher post Eid holidays
Saif Powertech secured the apex position on the DSE turnover chart, followed by Beximco Ltd and Summit Power
Equity indices of the country's stock exchanges have reported gains during the early hours of the session opening on Sunday after the three-day Eid holidays.
In the first hour of the trading session today, DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose by 0.76% or 43.76 points to 5,794.
DSE turnover, a significant market indicator, fell by 18% to Tk422.21 crore till 11:00 am.
Saif Powertech secured the apex position on the DSE turnover chart, followed by Beximco Ltd and Summit Power.
Meanwhile, Advent Pharma and Surwid Industries reached the circuit breaker upper limit at 10% without any reason.
During the corresponding period, DSE had 224 gainers against 61 losers, while prices of 61 scrips remained unchanged.
The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained 129 points to 16,787 till 11:00 am.
