Stocks edge up amid sales pressure

Robi Axiata led the script-wise turnover table, but it's share price fell by 4.42% to Tk67 each

Indices of the both stock exchanges edged higher amid investors selling pressure in the first one-and-half hour of trading session on Sunday.

In this session, DSEX, the benchmark index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose by 0.50% or 29.90 points to settle at 5,939 till 11:30am.

Turnover of the DSE jumped by 26% to Tk 1,148 crore during the session.

Robi Axiata Ltd, the second largest telecom service provider in Bangladesh, led the script-wise turnover table, but it's share price fell by 4.42% to Tk67 each.

Moreover, DSE shariah index DSES fell at 3.14 points to 1,320 and blue-chip index DS30 rose by 7.48 points to 2,244.

During this session, 110 companies share price rose, while 168 issues fell and 76 issues price remain unchanged during the session at the DSE.

The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose by 43 points to 17,268 till 11:30 am.
