Investors look forward to upcoming national budget

The key indices of the country's two main bourses have taken up a downward trend as investors' cautious eyes are glued on national budget 2020-21, set to be unveiled at 3:00pm today.

In the first one-and-half-hour of trading, DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), decreased 0.04% or 1.60 points to reach 3965.

At the same time, DSE Blue-Chip Index (DS30) also decreased by 1.97 points to 1330 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) decreased by 0.05 points to 919.

Most of the issues or 211 company's share prices remained unchanged, while only 18 increased and 16 declined.

The total trade on the DSE trading floor reached only Tk27.51 crore by 12:00pm.

The port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) key index also slumped today. CASPI, the key index of CSE has declined 0.69 points to reach at 11,258.
