Those suffering because of misconduct by their brokers or brokerage officials can file their complaints online

To popularise the securities regulator's online complaint module among investors, the premier bourse and electronic securities depository have added a link to it on their websites.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) said clients of the capital market's intermediaries can access the Customer Complaint Address Module from the DSE and the Central Depository Bangladesh Limited sites.

The DSE placed the module link in the quick links section of its website.

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission opened the module on its own website on September 30, 2019.

The online complaint filing system has helped a number of investors get remedies to misconduct by their brokers or brokerage officials concerned.

Fraudulent behaviour and questionable ways of customer handling by some capital market intermediaries have long been hurting investors' confidence on the market.

However, the regulator's war against the mishandling of clients' money has brought about notable improvement in the industry.

Desperate attempts by some service providers have also ended in vain as regulatory teams have punished the wrongdoers.

The securities regulator and stock exchanges are also trying to increase intermediary firms' financial and monitoring capacity that offsets risks of default.
