CSE Shariah Index revised
The new index will be effective from June 28
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has revised its Shariah Index CSI based on the performance of the companies listed on it.
The new index will be effective from June 28, 2020. The CSE Shariah Index is reviewed twice a year.
The new 15 companies which have been included are ACI Formulations, ADN Telecom, Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills, Coppertech Industries, GQ Ball Pen Industries, JMI Syringes & Medical Devices, Khulna Printing & Packaging, Oimex Electrode, Rangpur Foundry, Ring Shine Textiles, Runner Automobiles, SS Steel, Saiham Cotton Mills, Silco Pharmaceuticals, and Summit Alliance Port Limited.

Nine companies – Dhaka Electric Supply Company, National Tea Company, BDCOM Online, Sinobangla Industries, Square Pharmaceuticals, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, R N Spinning Mills, Square Textiles, and Shasha Denims – were excluded from the previous list.
In the revised CSE Shariah Index, 132 listed companies were selected from 331 listed securities.
The companies include Aamra Networks, Aamra Technologies, ACI Formulations, Active Fine Chemicals, ADN Telecom, Advent Pharma, AFC Agro Biotech, Agni Systems, Al-Arafah Islami Bank, Aman Cotton Fibrous, Aman Feed, Ambee Pharmaceuticals, Anwar Galvanizing, Apex Spinning & Knitting Mills, Appollo Ispat Complex, Aramit Cement, Aramit, Argon Denims, Aziz Pipes, Bangas, Bangladesh Building Systems, Bangladesh Lamps, Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills, Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh), BBS Cables, Bangladesh Welding Electrodes, Bd Thai Aluminium, Bengal Windsor Thermoplastics, Berger Paints Bangladesh, Beximco Pharmaceuticals, Central Pharmaceuticals, Coppertech Industries, CVO Petrochemical Refinery, Daffodil Computers, Delta Spinners, Doreen Power Generations and Systems, Dragon Sweater and Spinning.
Eastern Cables, Eastern Housing, Esquire Knit Composite, Export Import (Exim) Bank Of Bangladesh, Familytex (Bangladesh), Far Chemical Industries, Far East Knitting & Dyeing Industries, Fareast Islami Life Insurance Company, Fine Foods, First Security Islami Bank, Fortune Shoes, Fu-Wang Ceramic Industry, Fu-Wang Foods, Generation Next Fashions, Global Heavy Chemicals, GQ Ball Pen Industries, Grameenphone, H R Textile, Hakkani Pulp & Paper Mills, Hamid Fabrics, Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh, Hwa Well Textiles (Bangladesh), Imam Button Industries, Indo-Bangla Pharmaceuticals, Information Services Network, Information Technology Consultants, Intech, Intraco Refueling Station, Islami Bank Bangladesh, Islami Insurance Bangladesh, and Islamic Finance & Investment also made it to the list.
JMI Syringes & Medical Devices, Kattali Textile, Kay & Que (Bangladesh), KDS Accessories, Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries, Khulna Power Company, Khulna Printing & Packaging, Kohinoor Chemical Company (Bangladesh), LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, Libra Infusions, Linde Bangladesh, ML Dyeing, Malek Spinning Mills, Marico Bangladesh, Matin Spinning Mills, Miracle Industries, Mithun Knitting And Dyeing (CEPZ), MJL Bangladesh, Monno Ceramic Industries, Mozaffar Hossain Spinning Mills, Nahee Aluminum Composite Panel, National Feed Mill, and Navana CNG were included in the list too.
