CSE Dhaka office shifted to Nikunja

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has shifted its Dhaka office from Matijheel to Nikunja.  

Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC),on Thursday inaugurated the new office as the chief guest.

The CSE began its journey in 1995 from the port city through the cry-out trading system with a promise to create a state-of-the-art bourse in the country.

Since 2010, the exchange had been operating its activities from the Dhaka office at its own buildingat Dilkusha.

The head office of the bourse is located at Agrabad in Chattogram.

The exchange is comprised of 12 board members and run by an independent secretariat from the very first day of its inception.

The country's port city bourse recommended a 5% cash dividend to its shareholders for the financial year ending on 30June 2020.

Its net profit was Tk31.88 crore, down from Tk39.07 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Its earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk0.50 in the 2019-20 financial year, which was Tk0.62 in the previous financial year.

BSEC commissioners KhondokerKamaluzzaman, Dr Shaikh Shamsuddin Ahmed, Professor Dr Md Mizanur Rahman and Md Abdul Halim, Dhaka Stock Exchange Chairman Md Eunusur Rahman and CSE Chairman Asif Ibrahim were present at the programme.

Besides, the board members of the stock exchange and officials were present at the ceremony.
