Blue-chip stocks fall at opening session

Out of the 339 issues traded till then, 159 gained, 94 declined and 86 remained unchanged

Blue-chip companies index DS30 of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) fell amid investors selling pressure in the first one-and-half-hour trading of the last session of the week. 

During this period, DS30 lost 6.79 points to 1,703.

However, DSEX, the key index of DSE rose by 7.24 points or 0.14% to 4,890 till 11:30am.

The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained 27 points to 14,035.

Turnover, another major indicator on the DSE trading floor, fell by 7% to Tk363.30 crore during the session.

Moreover, the Shariah-based DSES index gained 0.10 points to 1,115.
