7 to face interviews for DSE’s MD post on Thursday
Six others will take part in interviews for the post of the chief regulatory office
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) will interview seven applicants for the post of the new managing director (MD).
The interviews will begin online at 10am on Thursday.
Also, six applicants will take part in interviews on Sunday for the post of chief regulatory officer (CRO).
Former executive director of the Bangladesh Bank Md Abdur Rahim, former MD of NCC Bank Moslehuddin Ahmed, former MD of NRB Bank Md Mehmood Husain, and former chief technical officer (CTO) of the DSE ASM Khairuzzaman will be interviewed for the post of managing director.
M Asheq Rahman, Dr Mohammad Anamul Haque Sarkar and Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain, FCA, CPA, CPFA will also be interviewed tomorrow.
The country's premier bourse, on 4 November, published the recruitment notice for the post of the managing director.
The MD position requires 10 years of management experience, including a bachelor's degree in: business, economics, statistics, mathematics, or law.
In addition, 10 years of experience with professional certificates – like CFA, CA, CMA, CS, CPA, etc. – are also required.
In the case of internationally-renowned candidates in the stock market, it is mentioned in the notification that the above-mentioned conditions will not be applicable.
In response to the recruitment notification, 21 candidates have applied and the DSE has finalised a list of seven of them for the interview.
Kazi Sanaul Hoq resigned from the post of DSE MD citing "personal" reasons.
His resignation letter was accepted on 8 October. However, he will continue in the post for three months and his term will end on 7 January.
Kazi Sanaul Hoq joined as the MD of DSE on 9 February this year following his appointment of three years.
At the board meeting, several shareholder directors of the DSE objected to appointing Kazi Chanaul.
Amid the divisive decision by the board, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) allowed him to be appointed MD.
