Garment workers organised a protest rally in Savar yesterday, demanding the payment of their due salaries and bonuses ahead of Eid.

The National Garment Workers Federation (NGWF), an organisation dedicated to the rights of garment workers, organised the rally in Savar's Hemayetpur bus stand area yesterday afternoon. Over fifty garment workers gathered at the rally.

The organisation's President, Amirul Haque Amin, was present at the rally.

During the rally, labour leaders called upon garment factory owners to pay a month's salary as a bonus, as well as to settle any outstanding salaries and other allowances owed to the workers before Eid.

The leaders also issued a warning, stating that if any owner fails to pay Eid bonuses or salaries to the workers before Eid, their homes will be surrounded by protesters if necessary.

However, they did not specify the names of any specific factories.
