Apparel workers who already entered corona hotspot Dhaka, Narayanganj and Gazipur will not be allowed to leave.

Meanwhile, no new workers will be allowed to enter these three districts, Health Minister Zahid Malik said in the virtual briefing today.

If any of them leave, then they will be put under mandatory quarantine under the supervision of the deputy commissioner of the district they go to, the minister said.

"The owners of the factories that reopened in Dhaka, Narayanganj and Gazipur, assured us that they will take necessary precautions to maintain social distancing, safe transportation and accommodation for the workers," he said.

"We will make a small medical team in each of the garments. They will inform the national committee about the situation of the factory every day," the minister added.

"If any worker gets infected, the medical team will ensure their isolation and quarantine," he further said.
