Factory workers must carry ID cards to enter Dhaka

Workers who need to enter Dhaka for work must carry their designated factory ID cards and show it to the appropriate authorities present at the entry points of the city.

"If they fail to show their ID cards, they will not be allowed to access the ghats and entry points of Dhaka," said a notification issued by Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishment (DIFE) today.

The notification also said that the ministry has already urged the factory owners to discourage workers, currently staying outside Dhaka, to return to their workplaces until further notice.

Although the coronavirus tally in the country continues to spiral every passing day, clothing manufacturers have reopened their factories on a limited scale from March 25.
