The ombudsman also mentioned that it did not find any labour rights violations and maladministration in Bangladesh

The European Ombudsman has rejected four international NGOs' appeal to cancel GSP facilities for Bangladesh.

At the same time, the ombudsman also mentioned that it did not find any labour rights violations and maladministration in Bangladesh.

The European Ombudsman made the observation on March 24 during dismissal of two complaints filed by four international trade unions.

Those are the International Trade Union Confederation, the International Trade Union Confederation, the Clean Clothes Campaign and HEC-NYU EU Public Interest Clinic.

BGMEA president Rubana Huq said it is a long expected good news for Bangladesh that the European Ombudsman has rejected allegations of labour rights abuses.

The European Ombudsman has given a big relief from such allegations, said the BGMEA president.
