Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) claims that 98.05 percent of the workers in the industry have received their wages for March this year.

The apex body of the apparel owners made this information known to journalists through their public group on social media platform WhatsApp earlier today.

According to BGMEA data, as many as 24,72,417 workers are employed in 2,274 member factories of the trade body. Of them, 24,24,217 workers have received their wages.

Workers of 340 RMG factories among the 360 located in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area have received their salaries.

There are 808 factories in Gazipur, of which 780 have paid wages to their workers.

Workers of 462 among 471 apparel factories in Savar and Ashulia have got their salaries, BGMEA claims.

There are 269 factories in Naraynganj. Of them, workers of 260 have been paid.

In Chattogram, 301 among 324 factories have paid wages to their workers.

According to BGMEA data, there are 42 factories in remote areas of the country. Among them, workers of 39 factories have received their wages.
