Only 8.06 percent of ADP implemented in the first quarter

The total ADP allocation for the fiscal year 2019-20 is Tk2,15,114 crore

The government has utilised only 8.06 percent of the total allocation for the Annual Development Programme (ADP) in the first three months of the current fiscal year.

According to a report of the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division, all ministries, along with divisions and agencies, spent around Tk17,377 crore in development programmes from July to September.

The total ADP allocation for the fiscal year 2019-20 is Tk2,15,114 crore. This implies that the government will have to implement around 92 percent of the development allocation in the next nine months.

Quoting the report, Planning Minister MA Mannan said the ADP implementation has reduced slightly considering the percentage rate, but it has increased in regard to the absolute amount.

At a press briefing after the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council today, the minister also said progress in the ADP implementation was 8.25 percent during the corresponding period last fiscal.

Despite a little reduction in the percentage, total implementation however increased by Tk2,417 crore, the minister added.
