Moderate 18pc rise for next budget
The proposed budget envisages Tk377,810 crore revenue collection
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has proposed a Tk523,190 crore budget in parliament today for the next fiscal year which is 18 percent bigger from this year’s revised budget.
He hopes with the budgetary measures in place and the private sector playing its role, the economy will grow by 8.2 percent next fiscal year.
The proposed budget envisages Tk377,810 crore revenue collection, 16 percent up from the revised figure for this fiscal year.
Some 14 percent of the total revenue or Tk325,600 crore will come from National Board of Revenue sources. This is some 16 percent higher from the revised NBR tax revenue collection for this year.
The proposed non-development expenditure also sees a moderate rise of 14 percent from this fiscal year’s revised figure to Tk310,262 crore.
The Annual Development Programme (ADP) is set to rise by 17.62 percent next fiscal year to Tk202,721 crore.
