The government has decided to reopen all shopping malls, shops and markets across the country from 25 April.

In a gazette notification today, the Cabinet division said the decision has been taken considering the livelihood of people.

The shops at the malls will remain open from 10am to 5pm daily. Legal action will be taken if hygiene rules are not maintained properly.

Earlier the government closed all shops and markets across the country during the lockdown from 14 April. However, online sales were allowed only after maintaining hygiene rules. Besides, Kitchen markets and grocery shops are open from 8 am to 4 pm daily.

The country has enforced weeklong stricter lockdown measures since 14 April, as the fresh wave of Covid-19 pandemic hit the country harder in recent weeks. The restrictions will end on 28 April.
