Joint venture industries’ workers to get stimulus package benefit

The government has decided to include workers of joint venture industries (B-Type) along with 100 percent locally owned industries (C-Type) of Export Processing Zone (EPZ), Economic Zone (EZ) and High Tech Parks under the economic stimulus package.

The salaries and allowance of the workers of these export oriented joint venture industries could be paid from the stimulus package, said a press release from the Bangladesh Bank on April 27.

In the press release, the central bank said the organisations can apply for loans/ investment to pay the salaries of their workers until May 2.

The banks which will provide the loans/ investment must submit their demand to the central bank by May 3.
