The industries ministry, on May 3, directed industries to keep operating amid the pandemic

To ensure health standards in factories, the industries ministry has asked the industries concerned to strictly follow the health department's guidelines.

Amid the prevailing crisis due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the industries ministry, on May 3, directed industries to keep operating.

In the directive, the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation, industries under the Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation as well as the Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation, industrial areas and salt factories under the Bangladesh Small and Cottages Industries Corporation, the Ship Recycling Yard in Sitakunda, soybean oil processing industries, and other industries have been asked to follow the guidelines provided by the health department.

Industries ministry Additional Secretary Md Helal Uddin is checking whether factories under his ministry are following the guidelines.

The industries ministry issued the instructions following the health department's directive on April 29.
