The Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) has postponed collection of all sorts of service charge for the next three months.

A BSCIC office order today said the decision has been taken to continue the country's pace of industrialisation amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

As per the decision, all service charges, including those increased in 2019, in all industrial units will not be realised in the next three months.

The country has 76 BSCIC industrial estates whose officers, including the regional directors in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi and Khulna, have already been asked to implement the order.

The BSCIC authority charges its industrial estates for three types of service: land development, water supply and infrastructure and utility.
