FHI 360 to disburse funds among 2,400 lactating mothers through bKash

Mobile financial service provider bKash has recently signed an agreement with the US-based non-profit human development organisation Family Health International 360 to disburse funds to 2,400 lactating mothers under the USAID's Strengthening Multisectoral Nutrition Programming through Implementation Science Activity.

Mizanur Rashid, chief commercial officer of bKash Limited, and Jennifer Crum, chief of party of the Family Health International 360 (FHI 360), signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides, said a press release. 

Masrur Chowdhury, head of government projects and business sales; ATM Mahbub Alam, general manager (business sales); Mehmud Ashique Iqbal, deputy general manager (key accounts); Somel Reza Khan, relationship manager (commercial) at bKash Limited, were present at the programme. 

On behalf of the FHI 360, Finance and Operation Director Khandaker Irshad Mahmud, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Adviser Nazmus Sadat, and Technical Adviser Dr Ayan Shankar Seal were present at the signing ceremony.

The FHI 360 has been working in Bangladesh for the last 40 years and has conducted more than 100 projects in family health and nutrition segment. 

Alongside providing wide range of human development assistance, the FHI 360 has also been at the forefront of helping Bangladesh move towards the digitisation of payments and financial services.
