The country's electronics giant Walton has exported electric fans worth Tk50 lakh to the Indian state of West Bengal this month.

With this, Walton has achieved another new milestone in expanding the export market of Walton products in the Indian market, said a press release.

Walton manufactures electric fans featuring advanced technology at its own factory within the country. Renowned for their exceptional quality, Walton fans, proudly labelled as "Made in Bangladesh", not only cater to domestic demand but are also exported internationally.

Abdul Latif, head of Walton Fan's Global Business Operations Department, said that they have been exporting fans to West Bengal since 2022.

The exports include stand fans, table fans and tornado fans. Various local dealers in North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia, Howrah, Hooghly, Burdwan, Malda, Siliguri, Barasat, East and West Medinipur districts have taken fans from Walton, he added.

Sohel Rana, chief business Officer of Electrical Appliances, said India is a huge market with potential. The demand and export of Walton fans is increasing every year in the country.

"One of the main reasons for this is Walton Fan's high quality, use of the latest technology, extensive power saving, durability and longevity," he said. This export process serves as a milestone in achieving Walton's "Vision Go Global 2030" aimed at becoming one of the best global brands.

He said, apart from India, Walton is exporting fans to Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Yemen and East Timor. Wherever Walton products are exported, it is improving the reputation of Bangladesh.

Zakibur Rahman Sejan, brand manager of Walton Electrical Appliances, said Walton is exporting products made in its own factory through hundreds of business partners worldwide after meeting the local demand.

Walton's fan manufacturing plant at Chandra in Gazipur under its own management has a monthly production capacity of four lakh units of fans. Currently, Walton is producing more than 100 models of fans of 12 categories.

In addition to the local market, fan export orders have also been received from several other countries around the world.
